I’m Kat, an artist, maker and art teacher, based in lovely Marion Bay, Tasmania.
I love traditional techniques and learning about the slow, intentional and traditional crafts that have been made by so many hands before mine. Everything you see here is made slowly by me, mostly with our golden labrador sleeping at my feet.
I’m inspired by the seasons, the country and coastal environment where we live, the farms and countryside that surround us, and the exquisite yarns and wools that are produced here in Tasmania. You’ll find my work here on the website and also stocked at local shops here in southern Tasmania, including The Lanterns in Dunalley, Tinker Tailor in Sorell and Cuckoo in Cygnet.
I also run small, creative and process-based art workshops for children and adults. Children’s workshops are run from my small home art studio, here in Marion Bay and are a gentle and immersive art experience.
Thanks for visiting Slow Going. I hope you like it here.
